What would be the dependent and independent variables?

Basically the experiment is adding salt to water in 5 cups and just adding water to the other 5 cups. Then finding out does salt increase or decrease the evaporation of water over a 7 day period. What would be the independent and dependent variable(s)? Would salt be the dependent variable and water and time be the independent? please help
-
Answer:
Ask yourself.. Does the amount of evaporation depend on whether there is salt in the water or does the amount of salt in the water depend on whether there is evaporation? Time is the constant.
