If someone seriously tried to ban pornography would it even be possible?

Not a chance. Porn is far too popular. It's actually classed as art rather than prostitution. There's a lot of lonely people out there. In the UK I remember the time when there was no internet, only hardcore porn you could get was illegal under the counter stuff of crap quality. Having a sex life is considered a normal healthy thing. There are a lot of problems that arise from denying this urge or having it denied for you. Paedophilia being one of the more severe outcomes. Society just looks at this as a sickness and draws a line under it but in a lot of cases it evolves out of sexual lonliness. This is why it's so rife in the catholic churches. If someone managed to shut off the internet and stop porn mags or DVD's being produced people would just make their own anyway. People who want porn banned simply don't understand human sexuality. They see it as something shameful and sinful which comes from a religious upbringing. I believe it will take a very long time but eventually you will see religion banned before you see pornography banned.

As long as there are people and recording devices, there will be porn. You can't ban people from having sex. Even if the distribution of porn was banned, there is no wy to enforce it. Particularly if the ban only occurred in the United States.

It could be banned under the human rights banner and it might succeed due to the fact that a lot of human trafficking is taking place to force some individuals into the industry. I don't think it should be banned, for the reasons you mentioned---I don't agree with it, and I see no value in the industry whatsoever, but banning it wouldn't stop it.

No we don't want you to go back to the days of watching your mom undress. We know better than to ban pornography because this way you watch other people's moms undress the other way causes you to get more dysfunctional.

i don't think it would be possible in to-days age, there are cam corders in everybody phone and you could film yourself with others, get friends to make movies, just don't think it would be possible to ban that shyte to many people like it

Some people argue that pornography isn't speech and therefore isn't protected by the first amendment. I read a column on it a few years ago but I can't find it now.

Are you kidding...even cave men drew pictures of sex acts..what's the world afraid of sex for anyway..I think that's how we all got here.If you don't like porn..don't look at it,problem solved.
