The life of a marine?

What is everyday life like being an active marine?

  • im 17, considering joining the marine corps. I was wondering what everyday life is like as an active marine. Is there free time, and what is life like on the base? Also if you know anything about the Marine Reserves that would be helpful. Thanks for you service

    for active duty and Reserves you go through the initial training process- boot camp, MCT or ITB, then your MOS School If you go reserves then you are done and you will be called for training like a couple weeks a year or something it depends for active duty after your training you go to your duty station your MOS will determine your everyday life generally speaking you will go to work around 7 am and get off like at 4 or 5 pm what you do while not working is your business as long as you stay out of trouble and you will be living in the barracks so you will usually have a curfew you will have money so you can buy a xbox or laptop or anything else to keep you occupied you will usually have weekends off if you go infantry you can expect to spend a lot of time in the field doing training exercises

I was an active duty WM. Active duty time is like any other job. It's what you make of it. Yes, there's plenty of free time after work (but not in Boot Camp). You can use it constructively, or spend it all on partying and getting into trouble. It sounds like you need to check out the above websites and talk to a Recruiter.

dont listen to that retard with the websites. everyone has their own opinions and he probably got kicked out or was told he couldnt join. depending on what job in the Marines you can basically have a """8-5""""job...its ok ,you live in the barracks unless your married go to work.come back,play video games etc..
