How many hours can a fifteen-year-old work?

I work at McDonald's and Please me I think they're stealing my hours?

  • I work at McDonald's and have been for about 5 month. I am a good worker and I got employee of the month in 3month since I got hired. Recently My schedule says I have to work 8 hours and I'm happy about it but they always make me work 3-5 hours. And by law I I've to take three breaks if I work more than 6 hours ( 30min break and two 10mim breaks). If less than 6 hours we only take one 10min break. So my schedule says work 8 hours and the manager makes me work 5 hours and forces me to take 50 mom break. They stole 40minutes from me because If I work less than 6 hours I'm only supposed to take 10min break. Now what should I do about this? I already talked to everyone in charger and they're not helping me.

  • Answer:

They're not stealing from you. They're legally obligated to make sure you take breaks.

There should be a bulletin board at your job.By law it is required that certain data is in plain sight, along with phone numbers to report employers who don't follow the law.Somewhere on that bulletin board, there is a phone number of an agency of the US government,to call when problems like this arise. If you can't read English well, have someone look at that board for you,and give you the number to call.Good luck.

Trust me they rnt. It's just that they have o many ppl working that they dnt need everyone so u all take turns. I had a relative that worked I'n panda express. She only had 2 hrs daily. And only on Saturdays. So she quit that shlthole. Wen she had to work like 20 weekly. But ya that's the way the system works. How about u get a decent job like idk a clothing store. Or maybe try construction I'n the summer they earn around 20 dollars a hr

I quit that Sh!thole a long time ago.. trust me theyr not stealing your hours, thats just how it is, i switched to wal mart because its easier and not as fast paced and faster promotion time and more of a variety of hous for you to work..

What is your question? No law prevents you from accepting employment with mandatory unpaid breaks.
