Strange noise when I touch my ear.

Is this an ear infection?

  • I have been having off and on hearing loss in both ears for a few months, and there is also some pain in both ears. Sometimes I can hear out of one of my ears more than the other (off and on), and if I can hear, if I touch the outside of my ear, or clean my ears (with q-tips), I wont be able to hear as much as I could before I touched or cleaned it. And I can still hear alittle out of my ears but not much and it sounds like a low buzzing/ringing type noise. Is this an ear infection?? Or is it something else?... And if it is an ear infection, is it bad that it has been untreated since about November?

  • Answer:

I had an ear infection not to long ago. I woke up at 4 am with a piercing pain. 12 hours later I was sitting in the ER screaming and crying because it felt like my head had been hit with a flaming brick. Turns out I had a total of FOUR infections (two DIFFERENT infection in BOTH ears) My advice... see a doctor. They'll give you some drops that will improve things in a few hours.
