How hard is it to find an entry level chemical engineering job in Houston TX?
-
I currently have a 3.4 GPA and will be graduating in less than a year. I know Houston is one of the top cities for chemical engineers, is it hard to find an entry level job there?
-
Answer:
Engineers are always in demand, especially in the O&G industry. Lots of energy industry giants in Houston from EXXON to Phillips/Conoco, search on their career sites for opportunities. EXXON in particular has shifted its business model in recent years from emphasis on retail/distribution to refining and exploration which is where the company had built its reputation. As EXXON has recently upgraded and expanded their Houston area campus there's a good chance you can find something with them. Contact their human resources department and ask about graduate internships. Good luck.
