Why is everyone trying to be indie?

What shoes do indie boys wear?

• I know a lot of indie boys wear plimsolls and espadrilles, but I'm a bit stuck on brands...I've got some nice high street ones but I also want a special branded pair of plimsolls that I can wear, but I'm really stuck on what nice brand I can go for...I liked espadrilles a lot so I started looking at Toms, but they kind of not suit me...are plimsolls indie? Would you say a pair of colour block plimsolls are nice? Because I saw a pair somewhere... Again, what brands of indie footwear can I get? I wonder if creepers are indie, but I don't think I'm really into creepers...I really like espadrilles though, I think they're gorg but Toms don't really suit me and they're a bit overpriced so my mum doesn't want me getting a pair (-__-) What other brands of indie footwear can I get? I don't really know many brands. Vans are way too mainstream now, everyone has them (and most of them have the same model and even colour) so that's a bit of a turn off. I don't really want a pair of Converses either, and Dr Martens are nice but theyre a bit expensive so I need to save up by getting a job (I'm trying to find one) and save up with birthday money too if I want a pair. I'm debating though because a lot of DMs don't really suit me. So, back to the original point, did I leave out any other forms of indie teen boys' footwear? What other nice ones can you suggest that fit what I like? And what other brands are there available because I only know a few brands that do shoes that fit the indie style at the moment.
