Why does my heart beat too fast at night?

  • For the last two nights in a row I lay down to sleep and within a minute my heart starts racing and doesn't stop. I sleep it off and in the morning it's normal again but I'm worried. Why does this happen? I think I eat enough magnesium and I don't think I'm anxious, so..? N.B. I'm female, 27, admittedly overweight but have been for ten years and it's never happened before.

  • Answer:

you say your admittedly overweight, maybe the stress on your heart is finally taking affect. any heart related issue's should not be taken lightly and you should consult a medical professional, whether on phone or in person.

There are lots of reasons for this and most are minor with a few major ones. Things like Anxiety Caffeine Certain medications Fever Nicotine and other drugs Overactive Thyroid Stess Fear. In most cases its a minor problem but if none of the above apply to you then dont worry but go and see your GP who should be able to put your mind at rest. At you age its probably nothing serious but if you are worrying about a heart problem then that will make the symptoms worse. In fact its more than likely caused by your worrying its something more serious.
