What do doctors do to test for mono other than blood test?

How much blood do doctors take from you in a Blood Test??? PLEASE HELP ME!?

  • i'm getting a blood test and i'm freaking out! do you know how much blood they take? like, the weight of the blood? I heard from somebody it's a whole PINT but they said they weren't sure. I want to know because I'm really scared! Help me! And any advice for the blood test would also be really appreciated! :)

    relax, it will probably only be about 2 or 3 tubes. It takes 35 large tubes to equal a pint of blood, I know because I asked. I've had 20 tubes taken, but my doctor was looking for genetic problems. A typical blood test does not take much at all, and it only takes a couple of minutes.

one or two little tubes...a few tablespoons worth, nowhere near a cup muchless a whole pint! and there's nothing to tell you except to relax, it's really not a big deal...you'll be just fine!

Im type 1 diabetic since halloween 2011 and when i get took to hospital they put a numbing cream on my arm and hand and when its numb they put a needle in and take blood. I swear, it feels like a tiny scratch and then it doesnt hurt when they take it out. They take quite a bit and ur arm may feel a bit strange but it doesnt hurt. Need anymore help, please just ask :)
