What time should i drink a protein shake?

  • I would prefer to drink only one shake a day. and i know the best times to drink them are in the morning, for breakfast, and after a work out. but since i only want to drink one shake a day should i drink it after my workout? and i have been hearing that if you drink a protein shake with whey, casein and a source of simple carbohydrates that it is better for you. my protein powder is whey but what is casein and what would be a source of simple carbs? what would be a possible shake i could make? like what can i put in it oats? a banana? thanks.

Within 45 minutes after a workout (definitely do this) You can also have it an hour before a workout (optional) You could blend a banana into the shake or if you don't use a blender, just use a pot of fat free yoghurt for the carbohydrate source!
