Why can't I make Dunkin' Donuts coffee at home taste as good as when I get it at Dunkin' Donuts?

Always try to improve on things you've had someplace else... not duplicate it. Yours is probably better. You don't say what kind of coffee maker you're using (drip, automatic, perk), or how much coffee to water you're using, or how finely you're griding the beans. It would be different depending on the kind of pot you're using. If you don't like the result (remember.. Improve, not duplicate), then just make adjustments to those things (coffee to water ratio, grind, etc.).

dunkin donuts isnt that great. ive noticed that the reason i like their iced coffee so much is they add SO much sugar! its rediculous! and they add like 4 tbsp of cream! its probably all the fat and sugar u are missing. if u are really craving it, just drink normal coffee at home and occassionally spring for a coffee even if its once a morning, it will be cheaper than trying to buy all the crap to make it at home. trust me.

I really don't think most home coffee makers get the water hot enough. I have the same problem. Coffee I make in my five-year-old, twenty dollar coffee pot never tastes as good as McDonald's coffee or the cup I get at the breakfast diner. Problem is, I am morally opposed to buying a new machine as long as the old machine still works. Its quite a conundrum.

It has to do with the fact that you use a different coffee pot. That's the only difference. I had the same problem and quit trying.

Most likely because they use high quality industrial coffee makers and you don't.

It's because they put in so many creams & sugars. You don't need that just use the basics.
