Can I use regular food coloring in my airbrush?

Can you use gel food coloring to color fondant?

• I know I can't use liquid, but what about gel? Also, if you can't use gel, do you know some stores that carry paste or powder food coloring? Thanks!

  I think you can paint the fondant with gel coloring. I don't think you can use it to color the entire fondant. A full line craft store that carries cake decorating supplies would carry powdered coloring. If you can not locate the powdered try a small bit of fondant and color it with the gel coloring and see what happens. Allow it to sit for a day to see what effect time will have on the colored fondant.
