How to cook a steak medium rare.?

  • I'm planning on having steak for dinner tonight, but I would like for it to be medium rare if I could pull it off. Problem is, I hardly ever cook for myself, I usually just eat frozen/fast food, so I have absolutely no idea where to start. I'd also like to ask if it's dangerous to attempt to cook meat medium rare when I don't cook too much. Any tips would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

There are a few ways to cook great steak but if you are unsure then - Take your steak out of the fridge and rub a little olive and sea salt all over it. Cover and let it sit for about 20 min. Heat a pan with a little butter and oil. When the blood starts rising and sitting on top of your steak, turn it over. When the same thing happens on the turned side (the blood due to the heat will happen quicker this side) Only turn your over steak once.

Remember you only want to turn the steak once! Heat the pan and then cook each side for no longer then a minute and it should be close... Cut it to see, if not leave it to cook a little longer but don't re flip it
