Teachers how would you feel receiving a video email from a former student?

I'm graduating the end of May (SO excited!!) and I'm traveling all summer. I've become sort of attached to this one particular teacher of mine since my freshman year. She is almost like a second mom to me. I tell her everything, tears and laughs she's been through so much with me as a support. She asked me to keep in touch and to email her and everything throughout the summer and school year if I don't have time to visit. I'm traveling around the world this summer (for a college music program) (Australia I'm most excited about!!) I'm going to email my family video updates because it's easier than writing a 10 page email. Is it okay to send a video update email to my teacher?

sorry, i'm not a teacher...but, I think this is perfectly acceptable. You seem to have gotten very close with this teacher and I think they would love to hear from you! Especially because you will have graduated you should have no problem. As long as the videos are appropriate (please don't make me explain that one!) and you only make them for the purpose of updating your former teacher in a nice friendly way! That seems a lot better than writing a 10 page email for sure! Maybe even ask for their phone number if you think you both would be comfortable so then you could call sometimes.
