Finance question???

A question about student finance and accommodation?

  • My boyfriend will be on a course of student finance in the up and coming month of September 2012. He will be living in student accommodation in the first year, but then after that first year... - What are the circumstances of me being able to live with him? ...I'm not expecting to live off of his student finance money or anything, and I will pay half of the rent of wherever we stay, and half of anything that is needed.. - But would that be allowed? - And if so.. how would you do it? - Do you need to tell who ever is in charge of student finance etc? LOOKING FOR ANSWERS AND NO ONE KNOWS, So 10 points to anyone who has a CLUEE?! Thankyou! Really hope you know the answers?

  • Answer:

Unless your boyfriend goes to a private, religious school (not all, but some do have restrictions against it), that should not be a problem once he moves out of the dorms. If he is staying in the school dorms, I don't think he can live with anyone of the opposite gender, but once he moves out then it doesn't matter what he do. I don't think he needs to report that to anyone either since that's his business. Also think of the nontraditional students with families that go to college, it's perfectly fine for them to live with their spouses/partners. If you guys are unsure about the rules, he should contact the housing staff or director and just ask them. They'll tell exactly what is allowed or not allowed and the process to do it. I suspect the only think he would need to do is to move out of student dorms, and you guys should be fine.
