Can international students get scholarships in general? In Australia?

Art scholarships in Australia for international students.?

  • I am from the UK and I really want to study a visual arts course in an Australian university but I unfortunately do not come from a privileged background, but I do work extremely hard and achieve distinctions in everything which is equivalent to an A at alevel and I study one alevel and I got an A but when I complete the full two years I am predicted an A* and D*D*D* at my btec which is equivalent to A*A*A* at alevel, and do four courses instead of one but the other two are just at basic levels but I still achieve the highest grades, and I got student of the year along with other things, I was just wondering if there are any scholarships what pay for full tuition fees? or even a student loan for international students what would cover tuition fees and living expenses, or maybe travel but I no this is pushing my luck, I just think it is unfair how because my mum and dad cant pay for everything I am deprived of an incredible chance like this when I work just as hard as anybody else and pay my own way, surely there is some sort of scholarship out there? I have found a few but they aren't really what I was looking for, any advice would be really appreciated, and please no horrible comments, I'm only trying to chase my dream.

First thing I would suggest is that = you contact the people whoever that offer the scholarships you have already found. Yes I know you said they were not what you were looking for but they may be able to alter things - if you could explain the what and the why. The rest may take a bit of work but you could try searching out the web sites of Australian colleges - find who offers courses that interest you and then enquire about scholarships. Again if you do not think they match what you want or need - then ask. I have found that many scholarships were set up many years ago - there will be trustees of any fund and they can alter things if asked. Ther may be scholarships available in the UK as well as in the Australia. sorry I do not know the title but most libaries will have a directory of Grant and fundiing bodies to which applications can be made for funds - so it might not be a sholarship as such but amounts to the same thing. ( i will check and add detaills later) I did manage years ago to get a young guy funds to study guitar at MIT in the US took a bit of work to get all the detaiils but there is funds out there. I am off to check the title of that book but will get back later
