When do you know if your financial aid is approved?

How do I know if I get approved for Financial Aid?

  • I applied for FAFSA about a month ago and haven't heard anything from them. When I view my processed information I get a message with this at the end, "Based on your EFC of 00000, you may be eligible to receive a Federal Pell Grant of up to $5,550 for the 2012-2013 school year." I have not heard anything from FAFSA, and I haven't even sent in my application for the community college I'm going to because I can't afford to go unless I get this money, and the application fee is $50 so I don't want to waste the money unless I know I'm getting the grant. I'm extremely confused right now =/

    The school would tell you if you'll be receiving anything, the FAFSA is just a form. If you haven't even applied to the school then you'll never know.
