Is it hard to get into the University of Minnesota?

Could I get into the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities with these credentials?

• Could I get into the University of Minnesota with a 3.0 gpa? I prefer Carlson School of Management.? I am very active in the community and have over 50 volunteer hours. I also am Indian if that helps. I have a 25 on the ACT. I also have a sibling attending there as well. My extra curriculars include: DECA Youth in Government Science Olympiad Diversity Club Any hope?

  Your extra curriculars are pretty nice, but your grade point average and ACT score are a little low. The average ACT score is 29.5 and most students are within the 90th high school rank percentile. This means your 3.0 GPA is not going to cut it. Having said all of that, you never know until you apply. Are you a Native American or are you applying from India as an international student? If it is the former, it will definitely give you an edge. Being an international student may be more competitive, but someone is going to have to confirm that for you. Do not forget to have the College of Liberal Arts as your back up if you can not get into Carlson. Good luck!
