What are some unique/interesting colleges?

What do colleges look at?

  • Do colleges look at awards? Do colleges look at student of the month certificates? Do colleges look at elementary school report cards? Do colleges look at middle school report cards? Do colleges look at high school report cards? Do colleges look at study island? Do colleges look at clubs you have joined in the past years? What grades do colleges look at for high school students? Do colleges look for anything else?

  • Answer:

in the US Colleges are going to want your unweighted cumulative GPA from beginning of freshman year to end of junior year. Once accepted it will be on the contingency of your senior grades. On your application you will list all extra activities you have done in HS. Your GPA, SAT/ACT score, letters of recommendation (from 2 teachers), your college essay will all figure into your application.

Colleges look at everything you've done from the 9th grade on. Extracurricular activities especially sports or arts/music related are looked at favorably. Being in the board game club (I was in it in 9th grade lol, it was fun) may be fun but probably not as good as playing soccer or being in the band. Basically consider anything you do in school from 9th grade on as going on your record and will be looked at by colleges.
