How stable are the Clinical Research Associate jobs?

What are some non-research/teaching jobs for a biochemistry phd?

  • I'm currently pursuing a PhD in biochemistry, but I honestly am not terribly passionate about the research. It's a chore for me, and I don't like how all consuming it is. I'm more person oriented and wanted to know what non-research options a biochem PhD would have. (Excluding professor because they often research as well). I am considering leaving the program to try for a PharmD.

  • Answer:

If you don't want to do research and you don't want to teach college, there's probably no point in finishing the PhD. You could work as a consultant or something, but that's still going to require some original work (that's why they're paying you, after all).
