Online colleges? No time for campus classes!?
-
I work overtime to help support my family so I have no time whatsoever to go to a college campus for classes. I know online schools get a bad rap and all, but honestly I don't care. I want to go to college and I want to do it before I'm 30! My mom went to University of Phoenix and I was considering that, but I did some research and found out that most employers HATE the fact that it's on your resume. I will be going to school for a Bachelors in Psychology. Would University of Phoenix be a good choice? If not, then which online school would be the best? Thanks(:

Answer:
Don't waste your time and money on an essentially worthless online excuse for a degree. The alleged graduate of an online program may have cheated by hiring an impostor to take the courses. As a result, ANY online degree is considered dubious-even if from a legit college. The University of Phoenix has a terrible reputation. Read the reviews on RipOffReport.com for schools to avoid. You would be wise to avoid ANY online school and ANY for profit school. They often get called "sucker" schools by job recruiters. Employers often automatically reject job applicants listing ANY online degree or ANY for-profit school-like U. of Phoenix, Brown Mackie, Kaplan,Ashford, etc.. Your best option could be a public community college where you take night or weekend courses. Attend college in person-You'll be glad you did!

Why are you studying psychology? You'll need at least a masters to do anything in the field, and admission to grad programs in psychology is very competitive (because it's a popular but useless major). UoP means you probably won't get into grad school, which means you won't be able to use your degree for anything but as a general college degree from an online school (not much).

I got my Bachelor from UofP and I am now in Law School. So the person who said you can't get into grad school with a online degree is a moron. They just say what they hear and read. I went to UofP and have had no problems getting into law school or finding a job. I actually got accepted to 7 out of the 10 law schools I applied for and ended up getting some scholarship money. So UofP isn't a bad choice. obviously if you have someone with a top tier school degree and someone with a degree from UofP, the person with a top tier degree will have the upper hand.
