Any advice on how to market my website?

I need a crash course on investing in the stock market?

  • I have never done it before, so I require both the basics to the advanced. To clarify I don't even know what website to go to. I don't know the rules for trading, I don't understand the dynamics, I really don't know anything. To specify further, I am not looking for advice on how to make money in the market but how every transaction works, how when/ for what reason I can sell. How long it takes to sell. Is it instant? Limits, basically everything. Can I buy any stock from a single website or I have to pick what stock I want first than find a website that I will provide what I need? Types of stocks, how I can tell what type I am buying, the difference between them, how many kinda there are. The different rules that apply to each. What equipment I will need. What websites will I need to be registered with. Will I be able to do better or be more efficient to use software? What are the best choices for software. If you know of a instructional movie or documentary that has a crash course on this. I will buy it. How to be aware of scams and avoid them, know what to look for.

  • Answer:

    Yes, there is an instructional video that tells you everything you need to know to be very successful in the stock market. It just takes 50 minutes. I am selling it for $79.99. I also have some other instructional videos you might like "Speak Mandarin in 3 days", "A Complete Course in Quantum Mechanics without Mathematics", "How to Date Supermodels and Movie Stars", "Become a Nuclear Superpower using eBay", and many other useful titles.

I think there is no course for stock market you should learn from your mistake and develop your own system and earn money from stock market.

Websites: Fidellity, Scott trade are probably two of the bigger ones Idk about any videos that explain the common stock trading terms but I'm sure you can google them and you'll find out. Also most of these websites provide explanation of such vocabulary. But judging on your response I dont really think you should be investing in the market (especially at this time) when u dont even know the basics.

Well, admitting that you need to learn is certainly a good step and it isn't something that people really have figured out even after years. But you can still get started by investing in a balanced mutual fund where a fund manager will do the due diligence in researching investment prospects and balance your portfolio periodically. If it's a lump sum that you're investing than a conservative ( 25% equity, 75% bonds ) to moderate ( 50/50 ) portfolio can be selected but if you create a monthly budget for your paycheck as you should and contribute to your portfolio frequently then you can be more aggressive with the aggressive funds ( >80% equity ) for a few years as your continuing contributions are essentially the same as having a bond invested and can be valued by a suitable market rate. There's certainly plenty of books and courses available but you're far more likely to either be ripped off by a scam of a course or you won't be prepared for the requirements of the course. Your best bet is probably a few basic books on investing such as the For Dummies series and the Idiot's Guide series. If something is talking purely about tracking a chart, shelve it, that's trying to know the future and you first need to know how to manage risk. What you can learn is how the system works, what the investments are, how to make some basic calculations and some guidelines to follow but you're not going to find some magical software, or some magical strategy, regardless of how much you pay for a course or book.

You just need an investing for dummies book. I wouldn't use a video as it cannot be platform specific. You just need a pc or a mac and to open an account with e-trade. You will only be able to purchase on cash unless you qualify by capacity and experience to borrow on margin or enter into more exotic contracts such as options. The rules for trading are simple. If you enter in a market order on an exchange traded firm, then you have ordered a floor trader to stay there until you are the high (or low bidder) depending on whether you are buying or selling. Stop loss orders don't really do that. A stop loss just says if a threshold is passed, pay any price or accept any price to trade the position It is quite possible to take incredible losses due to a momentary blip on the ticker. Limit orders are filled only to the extent prices exceed the limit. They ARE NOT market orders. Rather they set market prices. When you set a limit order you set the prices should the prices cross your limit order. Limit orders supply liquidity to the market and market orders remove liquidity from the market. Block orders do not occur on the tape, that is say someone buys or sells 1000 or even 1,000,000 million shares, the order will be hidden from the public until long after the trades happen and will be inserted on the tape when convenient. Most people do not realize that market ticks do not necessarily happen in the order in which they occur or at the actual price stated since for block orders it can either be at the weighted price or as many transactions at the real prices. For NASDAQ orders there is no market. Market makers are the counter party for all trades and they alone set the prices. It is competitive so they cannot go against the market, but in illiquid periods they choose the bid-ask price as they wish. They set limits as to the maximum size of trade they will accept, but are bound by their posted prices up to that limit. It operates much like a retail store in that they are selling and buying inventory for profit at stated prices.

Hahahaha...what @Joey is saying is that there is no quick way to be successful in the Stock Market. But on the other hand there are no shortage of ways to spend your money on learning to play that game but teach you nothing in reality...or worse scam you completely. Why do you need a crash course???? What is the hurry? If you wanted to be a Formula 1 racer....if you wanted to enter a World high stakes poker game in Vegas with $50,000 of your own money...would you go into something where professionals would tear you apart because you had nothing but a "Racing for Dummies" or "Poker for the Complete Idiot" course under your belt??? I doubt you would....or maybe I am giving you too much credit {shrug}
