What's the old car commercial?

Whats something you can do to your car to get its old power back?

  • Over the years your car might not feel as powerful as it did when it was brand new and now 15 years later what could you do to get the power back that was stock. Lets say a 15 year old car is rated at 160hp, 15 years later i bet if it were on the dyno i bet it would say your pushing 120 possibly so how do you get your car back up to its potential old power?

  • Answer:

Cars are like people we all need a physical once in a while. An up keep. We go to the gym an Drs., our cars to the garage to be rebuilt. So all your answers are correct.

rebuild the motor

What Joey said, rebuild the motor or at least replace the piston rings, which you might as well rebuild the motor since you'll have to take it all apart in the first place. Another think I would do is keep in up to date with routine maitenance, IE: oil change every 3000miles, do the 7k service every 7kmiles, do tune ups every 15k, etc. Replacing the valve seats and guides would probably help too. OR just rebuild the head (4 cylinder rebuild where I live professionally redone would be $150+tax). There's just so much you can do to get an engine back to its "prime time".
