What is a good music theory book to use to begin learning college-level theory?

I am changing my major to music education after being in college for a year as another major. I have a very good understanding of basic theory, but I would like to begin learning more advanced theory so that I can get ahead, seeing as I am already one year behind. Any suggestions?
