Evaluate the Following statement about antitrust!?
-
If some large schools belonged to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), The National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) would face fewer antitrust issues?
-
Answer:
True because the NAIA would present at least some sort of competition to the NCAA. The NCAA right now is essentially a monopoly. They control major college athletics. If some large schools/major programs belonged to the NAIA instead of the NCAA, there would be fewer antitrust issues due to the lack of monopoly.
