How to start your modeling career?

How do I start a career in modeling?

• I am 15 years old and interested in modeling, I understand it isn't as glamorous as everyone says it is and I know it's hard work. I am 5'6, 108 pounds, short light brown hair, green eyes, medium complexion, fairly full lips and female (as you probably already guessed) I also know that there is no chance of me being a runway model due to my height. I live in New England and I assume my best bet is a modeling agency in New York, i'm not expecting them to make me a model or to even see me in person, I just want to know of legitimate modeling agencies in New York and New England. I would also appreciate advice on what to do after I contact them or what to say once I do speak to an agency. I don't want to sound overconfident, I understand even talking to these modeling agencies is a long shot, all I want to know is how to start off in modeling and what places I should talk to in order to become involved. I know lots of people have an unrealistic expectation of modeling, they think that they'll find an agent and all of the sudden be in seventeen magazine. That isn't what I expect to happen, so I would appreciate any legitimate advice on how to start modeling. Please be brutally honest about the industry, just don't be disrespectful, I know it's hard and I am one out of a million girls, I just want to know how I should try to start modeling.

  Boston -- Click Models, Maggie Inc, Model Club NY -- FFT, Bella Agency, Lauren Green, Flaunt Models and Rick Miller are all commercial print agencies that do not have minimum height requirements. Any of the big fashion agencies (Ford, IMG, Elite, Wilhelmina, etc) only accept 5'8" or taller
