What are some individual softball drills?

Softball/Baseball Drills To Do By Myself?

  • I need some softball/baseball drills that I don't need another person to do with me. Such as that drill where you throw the ball up in the air and hit it. Particularly, I could use some throwing and fielding drills.

  • Answer:

I don't know of any fielding drills to do by yourself, but you could have a target to throw at to increase your accuracy.

Well for hitting I'd suggest either that or tee work. There is also drills where you swing close to a fence or net without hitting it and it's supposed to get a bit shorter path to the ball. I'm guessing the pitching machine is out. You could also try throwing a tennis ball at a wall and trying to hit it. If you can hit a tennis ball you can hit a Softball/baseball. Same with the throwing and fielding drills, throw into a wall and field it, you could also try this with any warm up throwing drills like on a knee(being careful to get the opposite knee of throwing hand forward and finishing across it), figure-eight(swing throwing arm in the figure-eight motion then throw), and whatever else you want to throw in there. You can field the ball off the wall and get closer or farther away to increase difficulty as well as reaction and range. For the throwing drills it is pretty vital you aim for something like a brick on a brick wall. It's okay to do that for hitting, but focus on driving the ball with some pop and more of a zone approach.
