Why does everyone compliment the Phillies fan base when..?
-
1) If you remember prior to 2007 they NEVER sold out games. Hell, even during 2007 they didn't even sell as many tickets. I just wish everyone would quit calling this a loyal and dedicated when they're only hoping on this team ever since they won the World Series and making the playoffs. I remember back in 1996 my black dad took me to a Phillies against the Phillies and there had to be NO MORE than 2,000 people at the game. They moved everyone down to the first 5-10 rows and they still didn't even wrap around the field. What a joke. Now all of a sudden I see every w hore down the street wearing Phillies clothes. So where were the consecutive sell outs and the same "loyal fans" back then that everyone is bragging about today? Before the Phillies started doing good, the main focus in that city was the Philadelphia Eagles and their near championship runs. Even a little before the Eagles started to make NFC Championship appearances the city was in love with the 76ers. The Flyers really have been the team to consistently make the playoffs year in and year out. But now everyone goes to Phillies games like they're the cool thing to do. I remember me and my friend Theodore went to dollar dog night in 2006 and tickets were $10. Now you can't find them anywhere and you have to buy them on those dates on ebay for $100 + Stop calling the Philadelphia Phillies a loyal fanbase, when they're just a bunch of bandwagon jokers.

Answer:
Ha I agree with you but the sad part is you see it all the time. Look at all the heat "fans" when the big 3 signed, look at all the Tigers and Marlins "fans" this year. For fun you should ask people the starting roster from the team in 2006. If they can only tell you a big name player or 2, odds are they are just a bandwagon jumper. I don't care if fans start cheering for a team when they do good, just don't act like you're truly dedicated and you've always been a fan.

Everyone hates Philadelphia fans. When do we compliment them? But I agree. Past attendance records show they're just a bunch of bandwagon jumpers.
PpF - Bruins goin' down!
If you look at attendance trends with professional sports teams, they do tend to go up when the team does good.
