What does pH have to do with the rate of photosynthesis?

How can I measure the rate of photosynthesis in aquatic plants?

  • Doing an experiment over the next few weeks at school and I have been given a homework to plan and write a method for my experiment. The experiment is to find out how temperature affects the rate of photosynthesis in aquatic plants so I was wondering how I could measure the rate of photosynthesis, would i count the oxygen bubbles and find out the rate of photosynthesis in bubbles per minute or? Also what would be a suitable temperature of water to start the experiment at? Thanks:)

  • Answer:

For the rate it would be more accurate to collect the oxygen in an inverted measuring cylinder and have the rate as volume O2 per minute. For temperature - have a range from 10 degrees C up to as high as you want to go.
