If you have to choose between a gaming handheld to a Home consoles which one would you choose & WHY?

i would much rather be gaming on a console or a pc rather than a handheld unit.i like the idea of seeing every thing on a large 37 inch tv or bigger.for me,there are only a few games that i would bother playing on a handheld compared to the many games that come out for consoles and pc.but remember,if your happy gaming on a handheld then that's all that matters.hope this helps.

Personally, if we don't count PC, than a console will beat a hand held any day. If I'm out, I don't need to be playing games. If I'm on a long car ride, I'm texting or calling. Or I'm on Facebook or Yahoo or whatever on my phone. The only systems out for hand held are not all that great. I own a PS3, computer, Xbox 360, and a 3DS. I mean.. I enjoy my 3DS but it really can't compare to an Xbox or PS3. Online is important, and it's something hand helds can barely give. If I'm playing a shooter, the only reason is to play with friends online. Most hand held games do not have a long, or in-depth story to do memory size, and graphics. The want higher graphics to bring attention, but lack on the story. They are getting better, but haven't hit their peak yet. Apple is not cheaper in any way. An iPod costs about 200-400$. Games on the iPod have no story or value, and the few that do can cost up to 30$ for about 2 hours of content. Of course this isn't all games. These sell because a lot of people own it, and a console. Some older people also only play flash games like Angry Bird and such. Games on smart phones are laggy, out of date, and beyond pathetic. They're not worth the 10$ for a laggy Super Mario like rip off. Home consoles only seem "Dying" because they haven't updated graphics in over 3 years, where as computers are, or can be updated, every few months.

I'd choose home consoles. It's true that gaming handhelds have interesting games, too but I think home consoles will have more varieties of games, not only shooters, either first person or third person. and usually gaming handhelds will have to wait for the game publisher to make the gaming handheld version of it, for example, a PS2 (home console) game Disgaea 2 ported to PSP (gaming handheld). And it's more fun to see the game running on a large screen rather than on small screens of gaming handhelds (not sure if gaming handhelds CAN'T be connected to a bigger screen). and well, shooter games aren't convenient to be played on home console. I'd prefer the PC version too.
