Why is everyone on the GTS on Pokemon Platinum so crazy?

In pokemon platinum why can't I request for pokemon I haven't recorded on my pokedex in the GTS?

  • I really want pokemon like ho-oh and lugia, and other pokemon that you need ar to get or another pokemon game which I don't have. Is there any way I can request these pokemon or get them added to my pokedex?

  • Answer:

Well, you can trade for one with a Heartgold / Soulsilver game. Those are in the same generation and can be freely traded back and forth. But you can't do that because thats how it works. The GTS just funcitons that way. You need to have seen a pokemon to search for it... ...OR you could get Pokemon White or Black. Those games have the "GTS Negotiations" system, where you can trade without having seen the pokemon you're looking for. There is no way to change the diamond/pearl/platinum/heartgold/soulsil… GTS. Those were the first games to have the system, and while the problems did get ironed out...they cant change them retroactively. It sucks, I know. But the black/white system does indeed resolve the problem permanently. I wish there was more, but there isnt. Im not far enough in my new game in soulsilver to be able to have either of those pokemon, but if you can manage to get ahold of me when I do get far enough, i can trade you them.I already have good versions ive sent to black, and was mainly running through again to get Raikou and Latias, so I really don't have any plans for the two you speak of.
