Christians, how did you overcome your own homosexual desires and "choose" to be straight?

I just love how Christians at times act like they know exactly what god does or what he thinks, but at other times say you can't know what god does or what he thinks..... Can't have it both ways.

I do not force myself to live a heterosexual life. I just decided to turn myself into a eunuch. When I ponder God, read his word, and put my mind on others things I feel a sense of control. Honestly, I haven't felt any attraction to anyone for a while now. I don't think sex is such a powerful drive that needs to be fulfilled as many believe. However, their may be one's that are better off married than not. If a homosexual Christian wants to marry, they can, but doing so as to force heterosexuality isn't a good idea. Instead, maybe sex can be placed off the table and other things in the relationship can be focused. Sex isn't the only nice thing in life.

Easy, I never had weirdo homosexual desires in the first place. THANK GOD !!!

God's grace is the key to change. The believer is given a new spirit within at salvation. Our Spirit is that part of us that shapes our thoughts, desires, motivations, and convictions. And so when we come to Christ, our old spirit is put to death and is replaced with the Holy Spirit. This is the foundation of change. From there we are instructed to let the word of God renew our heart and mind by immersing ourselves in the teaching, reading, and study of it. The Spirit of God then uses the truth of God's word to reshape our desires, etc. to be in conformity with Christ. And so the one who is diligently in the word of God and following Christ in obedience will over time find that their sinful desires are falling away and being replaced by Godly desires. And this is because of the work of the Holy Spirit within. We are set free from the power of sin because we desire it less and less.
