What is the minimum safe distance between a polycarbonate factory and residential areas?

  • A chemical corporation is going to build a polycarbonate factory 1 mile away from our residential areas. The citizens are getting very upset about it. Like the title question, I wondered what exactly should be considered "safe distance" between a polycarbonate factory and a medium-size town?
