What hospital jobs can I obtain?

I'm about to get my BA in music, what non-musical jobs can I hope to obtain?

  • Sadly, I have come to the harsh truth that I will not be hired for a career in music. I went through most of college just hoping to satisfy my Father's expectations of having his son get a bachelor's degree from UCSD. However, now that my graduation is approaching, I have realized that a BA in music is fairly worthless. I was wondering what other career possibilities are out there where a minimum of a bachelor's degree was required (regardless of what your major was) that can still provide for a decent living?

You mean to tell me you spent 4 years of your life and thousands upon thousands of dollars just to have a college degree? You very well knew that the only thing you can really do is teach music. Where the demand is: NOT art, history, music, cooking, sociology, psychology (with only 4 years), dance, journalism, interior/fashion design, in other words = stay away from the arts. Demand is in: Degrees based in: Math, medicine, computers, finance, and even accounting.

If you had asked this in the fall, when campus recruiting was going on, you would have had much more options. You could have been interviewing with all the generic companies like Enterprise Rent a Car management trainee, etc. Now, you have about 2 months and you are going to have to start hunting yourself. Go to the career center and see how they can put you in touch with the management trainee recruiters.

McDonald's, Burger King, Taco Bell, KFC, Wendy's, Chili's, TGI Friday's.... It's hard enough getting a job with a Business degree, having a worthless degree like Music will make your search even more difficult.
