Tips On A Job Interview?

First job interview tomorrow - NEED TIPS!?

  • Hello guys, im a 17 year old male and I've never had any previous jobs/ interviews and I have one for a very big job that would be a life time job! It is working for a golf company, organising and working at professional events. It's my dream job and I really want to nail it! I'm a very keen golfer, very I.T literate and very positive but somewhat lack in confidence when I'm under pressure (interview) there is 4 people getting interviewd, 120 people applied for the job, I know this because my best mate also works there and has put in a good word for me so in thinking they might give me an opportunity as we could have the potential to work very well as a team! I'm in very good stead for the job but I'm really not looking forward to the interview as I have no experience and don't know what to expect. Tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

They will more than likely ask you to tell them about yourself, so think a little bit more on what you can say for that. They may ask what you know about the company so also do some research so you know what they are doing. Mention that you can work both as a team and using your own initiative and give examples of this (even if it's to do with school) they will understand you won't have the experience in the working world due to your age. Always make eye contact when you are talking to someone, if there are two people interviewing you make contact with them both acknowledge they are both there. Don't get caught looking out the window or into space, don't slouch either. Oh, don't be afraid to ask questions such as is there room to progress in the company, do you get many people coming here and shake their hand!!! Really sell yourself, you want to show you are the best person ever without getting big headed Good luck!

You want to prepare a "brag sheet" which states all the good qualities you have dont give it to then just make it and re-read to yourself in case they ask you about your qualities. Next would be to find somethig that makes you unique that those other 120 people probably dont have or cant do etc. last step is to look presentable dress appropriatly and make sure your breathe does not stink !!
