How to decline a job that I already accepted?

How do i decline a job after i've accepted it?

  • I'm currently a jazz student, and i'm just finishing my spring semester, and i've registered for summer semester. I went out to look for a full time job that i could work around my schooling (i only go 2 days of the week) and i managed to land an interview. when i went basically the job was a big business marketing job that paid alot, but also consumed alot of hours. the guy that was to be my boss was kind of guy that was all about the money, and had the philosophy that you need money to be happy. he offered me a job and i accepted, and he says that i should expect to earn alot of money during the summer, and i instantly regretted accepting the offer. I'm the person that beleives that i don't need loads of money to be happy, and i didn't want to spend the summer focusing on a job, i wanted to focus more on summer courses and working on my musicianship. to accept this job feels like going against all the things i stand for, and i don't feel right about it. i don't care about all the money that it makes, i don't really want it. how do i go about telling him that i want to decline his offer?
