If i was to create a dating site here in Canada. would i need to get a legal representation etc as i would like a age limit on the site you would go on the site and click an agreement saying your 18 or older as rules to be on the site this site is just dating, no porn and nudity would not be allowed would i be ok just to put a disclaimer on my own? or would i need to pay for a lawyer or some type of legal representation as i want to go with a live website on this? thanks

  You're getting ahead of yourself here. The short answer is "no", you don't need one...you're correct that the age of consent is 18, not just for dating websites. The longer (better!) answer is "No, BUT..." But what? Well, you're creating your own business. Are you planning on charging people for your dating website? There are some serious considerations along with that. Terms of use (what exactly are people getting when they pay you money? More importantly, what AREN'T they getting? Do they know that?), privacy considerations, liability (if you "go live" without setting up a business entity, you and you alone are 100% liable for anything that goes wrong that people sue you for), income tax considerations... Trust me...get a lawyer. There are many who specialize in setting up solo/small businesses. That said, I really do wish you luck on your business venture.
