Can I connect a PS3 directly to another PS3 wirelessly?

How can I connect my PS3 directly to my Time Warner modem? Please help!!?

  • I recently got Time Warner Cable about two months ago and then I bought a PS3 and it doesn't stay signed in to the network. The internet speed is great and there are no problems on my computers (The modem is downstairs and the router is upstairs (both have to plug into cable outlet)) Since the modem is downstairs where the TV is and the router is upstairs I thought I could get a more steady connection by plugging my PS3 into my modem directly, yet when I did that and then tried to set up the connection on the PS3 it couldn't connect to the "wired: connection. If you have any ideas please feel free to throw them out there. If I really can't directly connect an ethernet cord into my modem and access internet then I might have to mess with the routers ports. Thanks in advance.

  • Answer:

Plug the PS3 into your cable modem, and the reboot your cable modem (unplug it and plug it back in). Most cable modems get locked to the first device that's connected, such as your router, and only let a different device connect directly after it's been reset.
