Why cant I add friends on Facebook, every time I try to add a friend nothing happens.?

I click on add friend but, it doesnt change to friend request sent, it stays the same, same as in " Add Friend"

are you using chrome? if so, use firefox instead, lots of people are having problems with chrome right now
