The size of the call stack depends on many factors, including the programming language, machine architecture, multi-threading, and amount of available memory. .." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stack_overflow Based on the above, the one of the previous answerers may be correct that some form of adware caused your system to crash or it could be that your RAM resources where already in heavy use when you encountered the event that pushed the computer to stack overflow. There is nothing you can overtly do fix the problem.

It probably means that you have some add on in your browser that is causing you issue. Download google chrome and try to send the email through that.
