Where can I practice Rally Racing?

Can racing flats be used for regular running practice?

  • I run long distance track and cross country. I want to buy racing flats but I would like to know if I can use them in regular practice or just in races. I'm not that fast yet, but the fastest I could ever hope to be is 6 miles at 6 minute pace, running off the track. Also, the coaches have us do speed workouts where we run 200s or 400s on the track. Could I use my racing flats for either of those practices? Let me know if more info is needed.

  • Answer:

You can use them a few days before a race. However, don't use them very often for practices, because they can wear out quite easily. They're made of thin material unlike regular running sneakers

Other answers

Yes, you can. In fact, 2 or 3 practices before a race its a good idea to get a feel for them. However racing flats are not very durable. They may only last for 150-200 miles of running (unlike regular running shoes which go to about 500). They are made of thinner material and the soles are more like foam than hard rubber. But they will improve your race times significantly.
