Would laser tattoo removal work for me?
-
Okay so I turned 18 two days ago for some odd reason i thought it would be brilliant to get a tattoo that had little meaning to me, i really want to look into getting laser tattoo removal done asap because i'm leaving for college in about 5 months for law. I have had people tell me that it's normal for lawyers to have tattoos that are not visible during work sessions, mine is on the upper part of my left arm, I just feel that in any case it is not professional to have tattoos and be a lawyer. So here's some things i heard factor into tattoo removal: -I'm white so i have a fair skin complexional -The tattoo was done by a professional artist -It has no color associated with it, it's all black -It's a quote so it's two lines long, but there is about 1/4" of bare skin between lines -It was done about 36 hours ago so it's rather fresh So my questions are: Do you think laser removal will have a positive output in my situation? How much do you think it will cost? (Est.) How many sessions do you think it will take for full removal?

Answer:
You have a few things in your favor for a laser tattoo removal: black ink on fair to medium untanned skin normally removes best. You are young & (I am also assuming healthy with good circulation) upper body tattoos remove better then mid to lower body tattoos. The down side: it's a new professional tattoo. Older tattoos of 10 or more years remove faster. Cost, number of sessions, risks vs benefit & options are all covered during a consultation. Do a Google search for your city, select 3 or more reputable experienced clinics to consult. Go with the best one you can afford. Good luck to you.

You got it on a whim and now you want to get rid of it on a whim. Slow down! Getting rid of a tattoo is a lot more painful and a lot more expensive than getting one in the first place. Black is the hardest of all to remove, taking multiple sessions. You're looking at $500.00 to $1,000.00 to burn it off. They have to literally burn the ink to break it down, and that means burning your skin in the process. Since it's on your arm, nobody is going to see it. It certainly wouldn't affect your schooling, anyway. You have years to figure out if some client or law partner might be poolside with you and end up seeing your tattoo and forming a bad opinion of you as a result. Wait until you're already working as a lawyer so you can afford the treatments. The tattoo will be a good reminder not to make impulsive decisions, or as they say in court ~ rush to judgment. Good luck. You'll do fine if you just slow down a little. . .
