What makes Malaysia a great country?

What do you do when you lose your passport overseas but live and work in another country?

  • I'm in a complete mess. My laptop and Malaysian passport were stolen in Sydney (where I current am on holiday) and I don't know what to do now. What makes it worse is I live and work in Singapore and not Malaysia and my employer is waiting for my return. Does anyone have passed experience about losing passports overseas, how long it takes to get a new one and if you can get a new passport overseas rather than have to return to the passport country to get a new one?

  • Answer:

First, you go to the Malaysian consulate in Sydney with whatever documents you do have and apply for a new passport. Then you take the new passport to the Singaporean consulate to get a new employment visa.

You go immediately to the Malaysian embassy for a replacement. You aren't the first one to have such an experience. It's fairly routine.
