How do I keep my ear from getting infected?

Ear peircings keep getting infected??

  • so i got my lobes done about 6 months ago, and had no problem at all with them. After the 6 weeks were up, i changed the studs and then got my lobes done a second time. However, my second and first peircings have been getting infected for the past month or so. I lift up my lobe so that i can see the earring back but then all this yellow cloudy stuff comes out, sometimes..squirts almost. I clean them twice a day with surgical spirit and only touch them when i clean them in the morning and night. Whats going on???

That actually happens with peircings a lot, I have experienced that in the past. Ear lobe peircings take around 6 months to fully heal (sometimes a little longer depending on the person), but they actually don't recommend you changing the earring until after a full year, and even then they can still get irritated and infected. Just keep cleaning them and try not to fiddle with them too much, avoid changing them often as well. Sometimes you can use sea salt and warm water to help with the infected area. I wouldn't worry too much about it.
