Why are my goldfish fins turning yellow?

I think my goldfish could be dying?

  • I brought two new goldfish two days ago, one of them has its top fin down and looks a bit ill. When I brought it it's fin was down but now its siting at the bottom of the tank not moving unless I put some food in the tank then it moves a little but hardly eats. It's balance seems a little off when it swims, I went to a pet shop and brought some "gold disease safe" I had a goldfish before that went like this but it started turning black on its fin and dyed, when I brought my new goldfish it has big black patches on its fins and also one on its head. I thought it was the patten on the fish but now im wondering if it turned that way when it got ill. I have four goldfish altogether and the other three are fine. Please help, I no its just a fish but I don't want it to die.

    The black patches were ammonia burns... your fish will be healthy if you will add aquarium salt and increase oxygen level

hi i have owned goldfish and they are great and not just a A FISH to you,i think you will lose the ill one sadly,but all i can say is please separate the healthy fish from the poorly one,and give the tank or bowl a really good clean,i separated one of my ill fish,i had it for 4 years and was crying when it died,i really do know how you feel., you may be lucky and the fish will survive on its own,but you do not want to risk the others getting the same thing,fingers crossed it pulls through best of luck

Give it some CPR and it should be swimming back to normal, it worked for me 5 times :) just give em an ole squeeze in the middle 3-4 times :) hope this helps your poor sick fishes

sounds like some sort of fungus or fin rot to me with the black fins you can buy this but the shop should never of sold a fish with a known illness. go to a different shop and ask for their diagnosis they will prob say the same. also try putting some aquarium salt in the water it helps steralise thigs a little more

ur gold fish is not going to die. my gold fish used to show all these symptons and he turned out just fine

go to the pet shop and tell them all about it and they should tell you what's wrong.
