What to bring to boy scout camp?

Awesome things to bring on a 12 year old boy scout camp out?

  • My friends and I are bringing Nintendo Ds's to the camp out to play multiplayer Mario kart against each other in our tents... Any other ideas?

  • Answer:

Hmmm.. Any game systems would seem to be an *extraordinarily* bad idea. (They are confiscated if found in our troop...) Nothing that takes batteries or power-cords. We encourage our boys to bring along: Chess. (since they can beat most of the adults - and what could be more fun than a 12 yr old boy beating a grown man at one of these games?) Cards. Cribbage, Hearts, Spades get played the most. Checkers. (But not one boy has ever yet brought a checkers board...) Battleship (our boys created a strange 4-player version - never did get the rules) Jenga - bad idea - just...trust me... Jenga and campfires... bad idea Frisbees water balloons - ('50 yards from any adults ' rule is enforced) water pistols - (10 yards from any adults...) Three years ago they brought a D&D game, with dice etc - not a great idea Zombie tag game has gone over well... or http://www.amazon.com/Last-Night-On-Earth-Zombie/dp/0979658500/ref=sr_1_109?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1334342401&sr=1-109 Mancala has been popular a couple years We originally allowed collectable card games... that had to stop...
