How do I bridge my amp?

How to bridge this home power amp?

  • i bought this amp on ebay it is a Crest FA 800. The bridging on this amp looks really weird instead of using 1 positive and 1 negative, in bridge, it says to connect 2 positives to the speaker. to me this sounds like a bad idea does anyone have any experience with this style of amp/bridging.

  • Answer:

Yes that is correct you are bridging 2 mono amps you connect to both positives, the two negatives are linked together via the earth, wish i could draw you a pic. EdiT:- found whilst looking for summats else this explains nicely http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ni_IM_wcfao

Other answers

That is a professional amp like the kind a DJ or musician would use. Great amp! Download the instruction manual from Crest and follow the instructions for bridging that amp exactly. You will end up connecting the two positives on either channel to the speaker - that is normal. http://www.crestaudio.com/media/pdf/FA_Series_owners_manual.pdf
