How To Cut Hair?

How to cut my own hair all one length?

  • So I have long hair... but I want to chop it all off. I made a mistake by getting a crappy straight perm, and now it grew out and half my hair is curly and half is straight. Almost every single one of my ends is split, and I am so frustrated with my hair... it's super long... about belly button length and i'm chopping it off to probably about chin length, so I can start over. Plus I have random grown out layers allllll over the place... so I just want to start over. The thing is that I have no expertise in hair cutting AT ALL, and I don't know anybody who does either so I can't get anyone to cut my hair for me. I DO NOT want to go to a hair salon because they NEVER LISTEN. I really want to use this opportunity to practice on myself so I never have to go to a hair salon ever again. When I clearly tell them I want it ONE length... they always cut layers... ALWAYS. Or they cut too much or too little. Plus I KNOW that they are going to ***** about my split ends and ask me why half my hair is curly, they always do. I'm poor as hell and I don't have to money to find a decent salon or have a regular hair stylist. I go to places like supercuts because thats all I can afford... all I need is a damn one length hair cut, I am desperately searching for tutorials but can't find any.. so how do I do it?

I agree with Jenna. Trying to do a one length on your own hair? LOL. Good luck on that!!! We go to school for years to learn hair basics then we take many more years just to master cutting. So for you to think you will be able to properly cut your own hair evenly without training is just crazy! Plus what are you going to cut your hair with? Please don't say a regular scissors. Even if you have a friend do if for you it will come out uneven. Sorry, go to a salon! If you've had problems in the past then see a different stylist. Before you make an appointment get a free consultation and explain the problems you had with your last stylist (not listening, cutting too much, not cutting enough, etc) and let them know EXACLY what you want. Then only make the appointment with the stylist you feel comforable with.
