How to maintain pool tables/cue sticks/cue balls?
-
My uncles own a pool hall and i work at a University "pool hall" basically a "rec" room and kids come in to play pool. We don't have jack sh1t to work with. My uncles pool hall has a ball waxer. Or a "cleaner" and it cleans em all, buffs and waxes i think. And they clean the felt tables. All i've ever seen em do once. at like 2 am once when my dad was in some rough times. I had to go to the pool halls as a kid to stay wit em. All i remeber is he just vacummed the felt. I don't remeber anything else. I probably fell asleep or something. And i remeber him building a pool table once too with his brothers. There was a big flat slate, and they took green felt and stretched it out tight, then they took 2 clamp lookin tools, that kept pulling the felt tight, than they clamped it down to the felt. Idk if they sprayed water on it or something. but they left it overnight and told all of the kids/cousins not to touch it. as for cue sticks, my dad has a helmstetter or however u spell it. cost plenty of bucks. He just keeps it in a case, and it comes with a cue tip fluffer to make it all soft and texturery. Thats all i know pretty much, and our rec room is a mess. felt is white, got rips in em, its all loose. The balls are so dirty and unsmooth. Our house cues look like ****. our cue tips all needa be new. and the cue tips feel like plastic. my dads helmstetter cue tip feels like suede leather that got shredded up.

Answer:
For cleaning the balls, you can either spend about $700 or make one yourself. Here is a link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8O5A6ON_bJU To clean the "cloth" not felt, you just need to vacuum any hair or crumbs off of it. Then run a cloth under warm water and wring it out, wipe the cloth on the table to remove any chalk that may be on the table. You are going to want to replace the cloth on your pool tables since there are rips in them. Clean the balls with the pool ball cleaner, if there are any chips in them just get a new set (they only cost about $60 per set). As for the cues, replace them since they "look like sh*t" and buy spare tips for them in case a tip pops off, making sure the tips you buy are leather not plastic. And get a cue tip "fluffer" as you call it to rough up the cue tip a bit so the chalk will stick to it.
