How can I use Craigslist?

• I'm selling some stuff on Craigslist, but not sure how to be careful, and use it wisely. Do they send the money through mail, if they want the item. First time using, Craigslist, a bit confused. Thanks for helping.

  People usually send you a check or money order to your US mailing address. Peoples banks make mistakes all the time, and sometimes people need help in cashing it. Once you get the check, you deposit the money into your account, then you mail them back the excess. So if you are selling an item for say $50.....then they will generally send you a check or money order for $10,000, which you will cash, then send them back $9,000. You keep $1,000 - $50 for the item, and $950 for the trouble of casing their check for them.
